Consumer Acceptable Use Policy
“ProdIDPass”, the “platform” and “we” in this document mean the operator identified in the Consumer Terms of Use and Legal Notice. Using the brand as shorthand does not change its legal identity.
This Policy forms part of the Consumer Terms of Use and applies to every use of ProdIDPass, including accounts, marketplace activity, reviews, messages, DPPs, credentials, APIs and support or reporting tools. It defines prohibited conduct; the Terms of Use govern the wider service relationship.
1. Lawful and honest use
Use the Service only for lawful purposes. Do not:
- commit or facilitate fraud, theft, money laundering, sanctions evasion, tax abuse or deceptive commercial conduct;
- impersonate a person or organisation, misstate authority, create false credentials, or conceal a material conflict or incentive;
- place sham orders, abuse payments, chargebacks, withdrawals, returns, refunds, promotions or coupons;
- manipulate Trust Points, reviews, votes, rankings, product availability or other integrity signals; or
- encourage another person to do any of these things.
2. Safety and security
Do not gain or attempt unauthorised access; probe or test security without written permission; bypass authentication, rate limits or eligibility controls; distribute malware; interfere with availability; or use compromised credentials. Do not publish passwords, private keys, one-time codes, full payment-card data or information that creates a foreseeable safety risk.
Good-faith security research must follow the vulnerability-reporting instructions in the Legal Notice. Do not use the illegal-content channel to disclose an exploitable vulnerability publicly.
3. Content standards
Do not submit, link to or distribute content that:
- is illegal, facilitates illegal activity or violates a court or authority order;
- infringes intellectual property, privacy, confidentiality, publicity or data-protection rights;
- threatens, harasses, exploits or promotes hatred or violence against a person or protected group;
- contains child sexual abuse material, non-consensual intimate material, trafficking or credible threats;
- is materially deceptive, defamatory, spam, a fake review or undisclosed paid endorsement;
- promotes an unsafe, recalled, counterfeit, prohibited or unlawfully marketed product; or
- contains malicious code or instructions intended to compromise people, products or systems.
Criticism, negative reviews and good-faith reports are not prohibited merely because they are inconvenient, provided they are lawful and based on honestly held experience or evidence.
4. DPP and data integrity
Do not forge, corrupt or misleadingly alter product identities, traceability events, certification data, ownership claims or credentials. Do not claim that a DPP proves safety, authenticity, legal title or regulatory compliance beyond what the underlying evidence supports.
Reasonable access to public product information is permitted. Automated access must use an approved interface where one is provided, respect technical instructions and rate limits, and not extract personal data or a substantial protected database, overload the Service, evade controls or build unlawful profiles.
5. Enforcement and procedural safeguards
We may investigate and proportionately warn, reduce visibility, refuse publication, remove or disable content, reverse integrity signals, limit functions, suspend an account or terminate access. We consider context, gravity, frequency, intent, impact and prior conduct. Urgent or temporary action may be taken to protect people, evidence or systems.
Where required by law, we will notify the affected user of the measure and give a clear, specific statement of reasons, the legal or contractual ground, whether automated tools materially contributed, and available review routes. Notice may be withheld where law, an authority order, security or protection of another person requires it. A user may challenge a decision through the route stated in the notice or the Complaints and Mediation page.
Repeated submission of manifestly illegal content or manifestly unfounded notices or complaints may lead to a temporary, proportionate restriction after warning where applicable. We may preserve relevant evidence and cooperate with competent authorities when legally required.
6. Reporting
Report specific suspected illegal content through the Illegal Content Reporting page. Use order support for delivery, withdrawal, return or refund issues; the complaints channel for service complaints; and [private security contact or vulnerability form] for vulnerabilities. Do not knowingly submit a false report or include unnecessary sensitive or payment data.
This Policy does not prevent legally protected activity or reduce mandatory consumer, whistleblower, research, accessibility or data-protection rights.
Rules for chats and attachments
Content rules also cover goods/service descriptions, private messages, file names, attachments and links. Private visibility does not permit illegal or infringing content. Fraud, phishing, malicious files, harassment, threats, hatred, spam, impersonation, solicitation of illegal goods or services, and unauthorized disclosure of personal or confidential information are prohibited. Send only relevant material you may lawfully share. Do not request passwords, one-time codes, full card details or credential keys. Voluntarily exchanging your own contact details is permitted.
Depending on conduct and risk, proportionate measures may include warnings, message or attachment restrictions, disabling content or account restrictions, with legally required notices and redress. Lawful negative feedback and good-faith reports are not prohibited because they disadvantage a seller. These rules do not mean all private messages are checked before delivery.
